What to see/expect
Biking/walking safari
Because of the surrounding local communities that have lived around Lake Mburo national park for many years, there has developed a special relationship between wildlife and the people on how to live together in this area. As a result, it has been the genesis of activities like bike safari and walking safari which you can’t have access to in any other national park here in Uganda.
Both biking and walking safaris will require you into an active engagement which will reward you with Uganda’s fresh breeze, a quiet moment with wildlife without engine noise which tends to scare them away most times. one should not miss out on any of these activities once in Lake Mburo national park.
Game drives
A game drive through the park trails will take you through different landscapes of the park as you encounter wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, African elands, impalas, oribis, waterbucks, reedbucks, hippos, hyenas, topis, leopards and over 350 bird species. Our 4×4 open rooftop safari customed vehicles are the best to use for this activity.
Boat safari
Boat safaris are scheduled almost the whole day, but we recommend an afternoon or late afternoon boat safari since temperatures rise around that time prompting thirsty wildlife to come to the lake to drink or bathe like waterbucks, buffaloes and zebras which add to your list of sightings besides the enormous numbers of hippos and crocodiles. A boat safari is a must for a bird enthusiast since the lake is rich with fish and insects which is a common interest for birds. most common birds include fish eagles, pied kingfishers, malachite kingfisher, squacco heron and much more.
