What to see/expect
Game drives
Early morning or late afternoon game drives in the Kasenyi plains is the most popular activity in Queen Elizabeth. Various tracks lead you to many hot spots in the area. Lions and leopards are especially spotted near the usual antelope gatherings like water holes/ dams. Because of the rich biodiversity, wildlife is seen almost on every corner of this park. Together with our knowledgeable guides/drivers, you have a great time on this activity.
Boat safari
In Queen Elizabeth national park, boat trips are carried out on the Kazinga channel; this 40KM channel connects two lakes found in the region; Lake Edward and Lake George. It’s a 2-hour sail towards Lake Edward. You will meet and see elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, waterbucks, antelopes and many more animals which will be seen along the water banks drinking and bathing. As it is one of the biggest concentrations of hippopotamus, there are lots of them in bunches of schools next to each other.
For bird watchers, this could be paradise, you can spot various kingfisher species, fish eagles, herons and much more.
Crater drive
Known as the Katwe crater explosions, this is one of the scenic areas of Queen Elizabeth Park. This 2-hour ride on a rough road will bring you magnificent views of the whole park, Lake Edward, Lake George and many crater lakes and rift valleys in the area. There is not much wildlife here, although you are most likely to meet elephants, especially in the rainy season.
It’s recommended to take an evening drive in the Katwe craters, mornings are sometimes covered in mist and therefore the whole experience of sight viewing is gone.
