What to see/expect
Lake Mburo
Lake Mburo is one of Uganda’s smallest parks, it is rich in wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, elands, impalas, oribis, waterbucks, reedbucks, hippos, hyenas, topis, leopards and much more plus over 350 species of birds. Lake Mburo has the distinction of being only one of two parks in Uganda (the other being Kidepo national park) that is home to zebras. The lake itself has got an abundant number of hippopotamuses that are usually recognised from their loud groan of sounds.
Queen Elizabeth national park
Queen Elizabeth is Uganda’s second-largest national park covering 1,978 square kilometres (763 square miles). Its notable water bodies, Lake Edward and Lake George, have made it the best park for wildlife safaris. The astounding game in Queen Elizabeth National Park includes lions, warthogs, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, leopards, and waterbucks to name just a few.
A boat safari on (Kazinga channel which is famous for habitating the largest number of Hippopotamus) is one of the highlights in this national park.
Ishasha sector
Ishasha is located southwest of Queen Elizabeth national park. This area is famous for its tree-climbing lions, a unique behavior for big cats like lions. Ishasha is the only area in Uganda where you can find tree-climbing lions easily.
The savannah parts of ishasha have also got lots of antelopes, elephants, hyenas, leopards and much more.
